Was born in 1922 at the 16 th. of November in Armenia, town Megry. In 1937 he entered and in 1942 he graduated from Yerevan Art College. In the same year he was called for military service. In 1945 he entered into Yerevan State Art Institute and in 1950 finished its drawing department. In the same year he was sent to Moscow for adanced training. In 1952 he was invited to Yerevan Art Institute as an instructor. In 1959 he was invited to Armenian Pedagogical Institute at Art, department. He's been leading the chair of methods of teaching drawing for 10 years. At the same time he was the dean of the faculty. He was awarded a title of assistant professor in 1967. Professor's title was awarded to Mr. Khachikyan in 1984. Since 1954 he's been the member of the Artists' Union of the USSR. For a long period of time he headed the drawing section of Artists' Union of Armenia. He'd been the member board and presidium of Artists' Union of Armenia. Since 1950 he's taken a part in Republic and Transcaucasian exhibitions. Since 1967 he's taken a part in All-Union (USSR's) and foreign exhibitions. In 1957-76 his personal exhibitions were opened. He took part in more than one hundred exhibitions with 200 works. His works has been awarded premium four times. In 1970 he was rewarded a title of Honoured Artist of Republic. In 1982 he was rewarded a title of Honoured Art Worker. V. G. Khachikyan has got 48 years' length of pedagogic service in Higher Educational Institution and such length of creative service as well. He's marred. Have got a daughter and two grandchildren.
