Mini Biography:
The Muse of Vilik Zakarian is of delicate and "restrained" character. It
witnesses a spiritual charm of the painter who timidly dissembles his love of
people, life, kindness and beauty from strange and listless eyes. The modesty of his exquisite and whole-hearted nature impels him to resort to allegory, allusion, metaphor or peculiar symbols. His paintings are characterized by elegance and delicacy of taste, original composition combinations and subtle decorative effects. The artist often simplifies form and color, outlines figures and objects by a distinct line and abandons the use of shadows, modeling and space view in order to achieve stronger expression. Steady inner unity, harmonic correlation among components as well as their balance are inherent in all his compositions. Figures and objects are combined by elegant color blends, smooth and easy movements, turns and lines. A scarlet or bright blue spot induces a spectator to switch his attention over to a dominant - a key-note of the picture. The characters of his images have a streak of uncertainty: as a matter of fact, they are just outlined. It is impossible to attribute them to a certain age: they live in their own world, regardless of time and space, but in spite of their generalized delineation, they are not deprived of expressiveness. The creative work of Vilik Zakarian - is an incantation of the artist's ideas, dreams and emotional sufferings in visual images. He is a painter with an ideal sense of proportion and individual disposition towards life and art.
