In this monograph the authors, Prof. V.M. Haroutyunian, Doctor of Medical Sciences, and Prof. G.A. Yeganian, Doctor of Medical Sciences, based on their own long-standing experience and analysis of the existing voluminous literature have set themselves the task of elucidation the gastroenterologic aspect of Mediterranean fever. In the first part of the monograph topical gastroenterologic problems of Mediterranean fever, namely, gastroenteral diseases in their complex from (peptic ulcer, Chron's diseases, nonspecific ulcerative colitis combined with Mediterranean fever) and isolated form, amyloid gastroenteropathy at Mediterranean fever are considered. In the second part of the book the pathogenetic mechanisms of origination of the mentioned lesions are discussed in connection with shifts in hormonal status, microcircular bed and immunocompetent system that take place in organisms affected by Mediterranean fever.
The monograph is of particular interest to practical physicians and scientists.
