DIAGNOSTICS AND TREATMENT OF THYROID GLAND DISEASES

The monograph is dedicated to the most topical problems of modern endocrinology, namely, diagnostics and treatment of thyroid gland diseases.

The results of complex examination of the patients suffering from thyrotoxicosis, hypothyrosis, nodular goiter, inflammatory and malignant diseases of thyroid gland using clinical radioisotopic, radioimmunologic and other methods are presented. The studies were carried out using immediate and distant (a year, 2 and 3 years later) results of the treatment. Particular attention has been given to comparative assessment of different schemes of medicinal therapy in the case of exophthalmic forms of thyrotoxicosis in young patients.
