BRIEF INFORMATION
Project background
There are a great number of solitary people of old age (more than 65 years old)
invalids, chronicle invalid children (up to 14 years old) in Armenia at the
present times, who need financial support as well as psychological. These are
the lonely people who do not have some one to take care of them, suffering from
disablement of 1st and 2nd degrees. Among them there are a lot of cultural
workers, scientists, people who were the focus of attention of the society.
The economic crisis in which the Republic found itself, stroke on that category
of people. And their physical and sociological state caused the reason of
their isolation from the society. There is no one who could manage with
receiving humanitarian help them, who could do shopping or just to be a good
company, to read newspaper or magazine for them, in summer time to look after
personal plot, to help carry water in case of non-permanent feeding.
At the moment this project will help these people to feel their need to the
society, their significance, to forget their helplessness, in which they
appeared because of the economic crisis, their physical state.
The important part of the project is the work with chronicle invalid children,

leisure.
The aim of the project is to help solitary elderly invalids and chronicle
invalid children. Being totally lonely, helpless these people became more
unprotected part of the population.
Their physical state became the reason of their isolation and estrangement from
the society. In order for them to understand that they are integral part of
the society, HUJ will organise care of solitary elderly invalids and chronicle
invalid children at their homes in Armenia. The care will realize students
from Medical University.

(purchasing of food products, cooking, cleaning of the flat, small repairs),
also rendering necessary medical treatment (carrying out procedures at homes
of Solitary Elderly Invalids, buying medicines, calling the doctor,
transporting to the hospital in case of need etc.). Students will attend them
a least 2 times a week and will spend at least 2-4 hours, in extreme cases when
it is bed-patient or totally isolated, then student will attend 4 times a
week.
Free medicines for solitary elderly invalids and chronicle invalid children
will be provided. Chemist-pharmaceutist will implement this part of the
project. He will distribute medicines to them, and will determine the right
prescriptions for patients. In case of necessity will arrange meetings for
patients with doctors. Besides that there will be carried out cultural events
such as attendance of the theaters, concerts, special performances for
invalids, churches etc.
What are the overall, long-term objectives of the project.

rehabilitate psychologically. To organise good care of them , to help them in
solving the problems of everyday necessities and economic problems. Carrying
out necessary treatment for them, getting the medicines.
Returning them back to the cultural life (attendance of churches, theaters,
movies, concerts, performances etc.)
The concrete results that we expect to reach by the end of the project To support in times of republic's transition period the people who are deprived of moral support. To create the necessary preconditions in order for them to realize that society needs them, that they are not forgotten. To train and prepare the required number of volunteers, who have skills in taking care ofs attention to the problems of people who live next to them and who need their support.
The aim of the project is to support the target group, which consists of
solitary elderly invalids and chronicle invalid children.
Each member of the target group will be attached to a student, who has passed
the special training, and participated in the seminars.
The preparational works will be based on researches of the information about
people who are in need. They will be divided in to different target groups
(small or big) depending on the regions where they live. Selection of the
location and room for the seminars, workshops and concluding meetings also will
be done.
Evaluation process will be done every 3rd month, and during those sessions all
issues will be discussed and solved that have risen along with the
implementation of the project. The project includes also seminars, and each
