Since 1962 the Center for the studies of Brjussov heritage has been functioning at the Institute.
In 1985 the Institute was awarded the Order of Peoples' Friendship.
In 1991 under the auspices of the Institute the Centre of French language and culture was set up, in 1992 - the Centre of German language and culture, in 1996 - the Centre for Comparative Studies and the Centre for the study of literary ties.
The library of the Institute was founded in 1935. The funds of the library contain 400000 volumes of literature in Armenian, Russian, English, French, German and other languages.

Studying at the Institute is 5 years and has 2 Levels. The institute has 4 departments.

The department of Foreign Languages
 proviges a two-year foundational course in major language and general edication

The department of Romance-Germanic Languages
gives the following qualifications:
English and Frensh

English and Psychhology
German and English
German and Psychhology

French and Italian
French and Psychhology

In 1997 cooperating with the University "Paris-12" the Institute initiatees a new specialization: French and International Trade. The diplomas in this qualification will be equated to "Paris-12" University diplomas.
